| I see things not for what they are but for what they can be. I have been lucky. Yes, lucky, because I have had the good fortune of having Vittorio Storaro as my “Maestro”. Over the past 15 years, working, growing and learning from Mr. Storaro has been incredible experience. Also, I have had the honor and opportunity to work with other worldwide famous cinematographers, such as Laszlo Kovacs, Lajos Koltai, Ed Lachman, Alex Thompson, to name just a few. They have given me the chance to discover and understand different ways of approaching lighting and composition. Naturally, speaking French and English has been an enormous help. 1997 is the year I signed my first feature film as a cinematographer. From that year on, I have been lighting feature films, TV commercials, musicals, operas, theater and, even 3D cartoons. I like to challenge myself. I enjoy mixing new and old methods of lighting in a world that is in constant change. I am a very eager and passionate person. In my experience I learned that sometimes the control of technical skills is not enough . You need enthusiasm, because it's with enthusiasm that you will always find a good solution. I like to see myself as a versatile cinematographer, I don't like to approach a project with predefined ideas and style. Every project has its own peculiarity, its essence, therefore it has its unique style that can be defined in tight connection with the director and the other contributors to the creative process. Our eyes, our sensitivity will shape this project and will make us see it not for what it is but for what, in the end, it will become. |
